While at ToonBoom, I drew this spaceman in the land of ripped paper. Pretty cool eh? Sure it is.
Yves Montand (1921 - 1991)
After having watched this French actor / singer in George Cukor's pretty lame movie Let's Make Love (1960) with Marilyn Monroe, I decided to paint this when looking for a subject about 5 years ago. I'm not really sure what compelled me to pick him. It's Oil on canvas.
Enrique Granados (1867 - 1916)
Enrique Granados is watching!A Spanish pianist, classical music composer and painter, I drew him after hearing a song on CBC many years ago. Would like to hear more from this mustachioed man.
Dario Argento
I haven't seen any of his latest films, ie: Do You Like Hitchcock? However, his earlier films like Suspiria (1977) or Phenomena (1985) are great! I drew this years ago after watching a few of his older Giallos.
The Creature
This drawing is from Astral days, aka 12 years ago. Those nails are probably due to some watching of Coffin Joe movies.
Bava Dead Girl
In my opinion, Mario Bava was one of the best horror movie directors. This is the chick who is found dead (strangled) in her bathtub in Blood and Black Lace (1964). I did this in 2006, it was supposed to be part of the Moncton NB exposition with Felino Bytes (see Dracula portrait) but I decided not to include it.
Burn Dude
Found this one in a folder full of old drawings / sketches, like pretty much all of the other things on here.
David Naughton In American Werewolf In London
In the movie An American Werewolf in London (1981), we see the David Kessler character get transformed into the werewolf and wreak havoc in downtown London. This is when he notices his hands are becoming feet! Love this movie.
Tex Avery
Since I'm reading Amid Amidi's "Cartoon Modern" AND looking at the pictures, here's a portrait of the very funny, but way too corny, Tex Avery. He was definitely one of the best.
Clint Eastwood !
Richy Norm lent me many of his Western "starter pack" DVDs, which obviously contain lots of Clint Eastwood action. One of the best flicks so far from his pile is Hang 'Em High (1968) directed by Ted Post. When watching the opening credits, you know it will be a good one!
It's already dead, greaser!
Some more HBBQ resuscitated... Again, going through older stuff I found this funny image I felt like re-drawing.
Christoph Willibald Gluck (1714 - 1787)
I drew it last night. His music is pretty soft, and relaxing. Even the Opera sounded good. When I don't know who to draw, I go for a classical musician. This one is supposed to be Christoph Willibald Ritter von Gluck. Is it ever really though?
TB notebook 16
So that's from my ToonBoom notebook, the 16th drawing I scanned into my computer. The kids at the trainings loved this kind of stuff!
Phone Sketch Guy
While being on the phone earlier, busting the limit of fuckin' pathetic cellphone minute plans, this guy got drawn.
Mal Arnold aka Fuad Ramses
"Have you ever had... AN EGYPTIAN FEAST" ???HG Lewis' Blood Feast (1963) is such an awesome movie, that one day in the early 2000s I drew Mr. Ramses here, framed it and put it on my wall.
Nepali
Since my buddy Colin went on another one of his travelling adventures one month ago, this time starting in Nepal, I drew this Nepali dude in order to give him an idea of what it's like there. Although I've never actually been.
Blue Amputated Freak
This is from an old sketchbook of mine, it may be from the late 90s, aka 10 years ago. Most probably drawn during Astral days, as it seems to be done on the back of some kind of report sheet.
Skeleton With Orange Hand
This is an acrylic painting on some kind of board, done about 4 years ago at least. It's also posted at www.felinobytes.comCharlie Patton
The "Father of Delta Blues"... I drew this in the early 2000s, but this dude recorded as early as 1929 / 30!
