Last night I watched La Notte dei Diavoli (1972) directed by Giorgio Ferroni. It had a great, typically Italian Euro-horror soundtrack by Giorgio Gaslini and had many aspects later found in the Evil Dead about 10 years later. It was everything I like about these type of films: creepy, slow moving, gothic and gory. I'm glad I found it. However, Ferroni's earlier Il Mulino Delle Donne Di Pietra (1960) had even more such elements and seems scarier to watch from my old VHS copy.
